Dixon von Dingen is a gorgeous 1-2 year old German Shepherd. This handsome, people-oriented boy is settling in at the rescue nicely, and we're beginning to see glimpses of his true personality shining through. He is looking to his handlers for ways to please, especially when he is rewarded with reassuring affection, and then we'll see him revert to a big, happy puppy. He’s an educated fellow who knows sit and down commands, and is happy to gently accept a treat in return. With an experienced handler, Dixon is a champ on the leash, and he will come out of his kennel with a big smile, happy and ready to start his walk. On the pack walk, he meets the other dogs well and walks nicely with them, though he is mostly keyed in to the human at the other end of the leash. Taken off leash in the play yard, Dixon is keen on exploring the space and checking in with his humans. He tries hard to avoid any pushy, dominant males, but tolerates the calmer dogs. Dixon is on an ever-upward trajectory to stable socialization and a happy future. He already has the looks and the smarts to live his best life. All he needs now is a dog-savvy, patient and loving human to be his partner along the way.
